The terrorist attack in Paris, France was vicious, heartless, cruel and callous! But so were the shopping mall bombings in Kenya, the kidnapping of the Chibok girls in Nigeria, and the black and senseless homicides the American city of Chicago, Illinois. The list is endless. We are living in the last days, and Jesus Christ prophesied well over 2000 years ago that the world will experience these types of catastrophic events, yet we are not to be troubled. “All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:8).
The above listed events should drive the people of God to their knees, to pray earnestly with the Apostle John, “Even so, come Lord Jesus!” What is desperately needed in this hour is a praying church; a church that will intercede for all the troubles of the world. The prophet Ezekiel said it best: “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their on heads, says the Lord God” (Ezekiel 22:30, 31).
Let us cosecrate and sanctify ourselves before God, and begin to pray and intercede for the troubles of the world, and for Jesus to come quickly.
