Do they know the huge responsibility that is involved in making a marriage work?
Do they really know the person they are intending to marry?
Do young people understand the total commitment that is required in a marriage?
Do they understand the marriage vows, which say in part, “For richer or for poor; for better or for worse, till death do us part?”
Do young people really understand that when two people marry they are no longer separate? They are no longer two, but become one flesh in the marriage covenant.
Read what God’s Word says about marriage:
‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Mark 10:7-9)
Guys and young ladies, you must not look only at the face and the body, because I guarantee you that both their body and their face will change. That six pack will become a fat pack as the years pass. His hair will gradually begin to thin out. The model’s figure that your wife had when you first married her will disappear. Young man, will you still love your wife when and if she loses that beautiful figure that first attracted you to her?
Young lady: Will you still love your husband when he loses his six pack? Will you still love your husband when he loses his hair?
And what if your spouse becomes ill and can’t do the things they used to do when they were fit and well? Will you still love them?
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. Falling in love is not an overnight thing! TAKE TIME TO KNOW HIM. TAKE TIME TO KNOW HER.
LET GOD GUIDE GUIDE YOU IN YOUR CHOICE OF A LIFETIME PARTNER.
